Racer Retrospective - Scott Sivills

Sivills pursued his dream of playing college basketball the way he pursues everything else, with fierce determination.

"I worked as hard as I could to spend as much time in the gym and my back yard as possible to be the best I could be," he said. "And my parents held me back my eighth grade year. It was probably the best thing they could have done because it really pushed me to play at the next level."

Following his junior year at Trigg County, Sivills played on an All-Star team coached by Allen Hatcher that traveled to Europe and various cities around the United States. Among the other players on that team were future Kentucky point guard Travis Ford and New York Knick Allan Houston.

As a high school senior, Sivills averaged 24 points and 15 rebounds per game. During one game against Murray High he hit a trio of three pointers in the final minute to erase a seven point deficit and give Trigg County the victory.
